Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus)

Kestrel Falco tinnunculus

I captured this image from one of the hides at the RSPB Blacktoft Sands Reserve. Its perhaps the best view I've had of one of these beautiful falcons. Unfortunately the weather drifted from dark grey murk to slightly lighter murk, hence the pale background. I love the way this one has its talons extended rather than tucked in under the body as they normally are.
