Red Fox Cub (Vulpes vulpes)

Red Fox Cub Vulpes vulpes

After my experience last year finding a den with two fox cubs I wasn't hopeful this year as of the three previous sites I know that have been used there looked to be no activity at two and the one used last year had a lot of disturbance in the area at a time when the female would have been looking for a suitable den. Never the less for weeks I have kept an eye on this one and could never quiet rule it out as there always seemed to be possible activity.

Needless to say I was delighted to find three youngsters yesterday. You can be sure I will be keeping a close eye on them over the coming months and doing what I can to prevent them coming to any harm.
